Essay 2-02a: My language learning experiences
I’m going to tell you about my language learning experiences. I learned three languages, Japanese, English and German. I have learned Japanese since I was elementary school student. I have learned English since I was junior high school student. So I started studying English when I was a junior high school student. And I had learned Germany when I entered this university. And German is my choice. In university I could choose one language from some language.
First, I learned Japanese when I was elementary school. I remember I often studied Hiragana and Kanji. So I felt so difficult for me. But I learned to write Kanji every day. To remember them, I wrote them down again and again. I learned a lot of things, for example how to read and how to write. So I first learned classic when I was junior high school. I dislike classic very much. Because I don’t read classic sentence and it is completely different from modern style. But I like to learn Hyakuninissyu. I like the most a poem is “Coarse the rush-mat roof Sheltering the harvest-hut Of the autumn rice-field; And my sleeves are growing wet With the moisture dripping through”. (Emperor Tenchi) Do you know this a poem?
Next, I first learned English when I was junior high school student. It was first foreign language, so I was very looking forward to study English. But I remember I could not understand English. In junior high school student, I dislike English. But I entered high school; I was a little like English. So I took in part English recitation contest. I practiced right pronunciation, intonation and expression every day. I like to learn English from this here. I want to learn more English.
Third, I first learned German in this university. Why I chose German? I heard my older friends that German is easier than other language. And German grammar is similar to English grammar. So I decided. But I don’t understand. It is very difficult for me. There are many rules. For example, accent, word form, and more things. Especially, word form was the most difficult rule for me. I read a textbook in German every class. German has male and female noun and change word forms. I didn't know what these nouns were and the word forms. German teaches by Mr. Yagi. He is always smirking. So he is good to use a cassette tape. So I want to study more German and go to there.
As you can see, I have learned three languages. They tell a lot of many important things for me. So I want to learn more languages. Especially, I must improve my English skills. Essay 2-01b: my favorite places
I will introduce about my favorite place. I have some favorite places. Where is your favorite place? First, my favorite place is Kusasenri in Aso. Do you know Kusasenri? If you live in Kumamoto, you will know it. There are always lots of people and scenic is good place. When I went to there with my friends, we could find a lot of shooting star and twinkle stars. It was as if a planetarium. I still remember the shooting stars vividly. Have you ever seen a shooting star? So I have also been Daikanbo in Aso. There is also a beautiful place. But I have never yet seen a shooting star and twinkle stars there. I want to go with my friends there.
Kusasenri is located near the top of the mountain. There is very cold. When I was high school student, I went to climbing the Kusasenri. There was a lot of flower. Cows were browsing in the meadow. So I remember that I stretched myself out on the grass and soon fell asleep. I enjoyed climbing. As you can see, I like Kusasenri very much. I recommend Kusasenri.
Next, my favorite place is my house. My house is very good. I live in Musashigaoka with my family. Msashigaoka is very good place because there is a lot of companies and park. So it is very useful and convenient for me. My house is near the Musashigaoka elementary school, Musashigaoka junior high school and so on. When I was in junior high school student, my favorite memory was soccer club. I was practice soccer every day. I devoted myself to club activities when I was junior high school student. I love soccer very much. If you like to play soccer, would you like to play soccer with me? I often go to play soccer with my friends in Musashigaoka junior high school. There are very convenient places. I love there.
There is a family in my house. My family members are my father, my mother, my younger brother and me. I also had an older brother. But he has been employed in Siga prefecture. When I am in house, I always quarreling with my family. But my family is very good family. My house is a housing estate. I want my own house. So my house is small. I’m very sad.
My room is convenient because there are a computer, a desk, a bed, a TV and sofa. When I study English, I use a computer and my desk. It is very important for me. So I am listening to music by i-pod.
