My favorite bike

My father is busy. He works hard every day. One day, I said to him, "Father, I want a new bike. My bike is very old. The light is broken. So I'm using the same bike for 5years. Most of my friends have new bikes. Please buy a new one for me." But my father didn't say yes.
The next Sunday morning, when I was looking at my old bike, my father came out of the house and said to him, "Do you want a new bike? We can buy a new one and throw away the old one easily. But I don't like the idea. You can ride it if you repair it. Let's clean and repair it."
I don't like my father's idea. Because my bike looks chewed up. So I want a new bike. My old bike is not cool. But I have no alternative but to I cleaned the old bike with my father. We worked together for about one hour. My father said, "Ryota, you're good at cleaning and good job!" "Father, you're good at repairing and god job too." said me. We smiled at each other. So when I was smiled with father, I remembered an ancient saying is "Have at it, and have it."
It was still an old bike, but I said to my father, "Thank you for your help. I like it. I'm going to use it again because you repaired it for me. Now it is shining like a new one. Thanks so much, father." He was smiling.
I think make do and mend is important thing. So my father teach important thing for me. So I want to use the bike with caution in the days ahead. So the bike is my treasure.
